Taylor Made Designs
Two brothers, thirty years of graft, and a brand ready to evolve.
At the beginning of 2024, TMD Founder James Taylor reached out to us with a simple invitation: come and meet us, see what we do, and show us what you could bring to Taylor Made Designs.
Walking into their impressive Christchurch facility, you could feel three decades of expertise woven into every garment. James and his brother Ed had built something special. A family business that didn’t just embroider and print corporate clothing, but genuinely understood the people who wore them, the roles they undertook and the brands they represented.
Yet something was missing.
They knew their ‘what’ but struggled to articulate their ‘why.’
TakingFive began our five-phase consultative process, not by redesigning everything, but by taking time to listen. Really listen. Through conversations with James, Ed, and their team, we uncovered a truth that had always been there. TMD weren’t just suppliers of corporate clothing….they were curators of comfort, advocates for the wearer, champions of feeling good at work.
Despite this, we didn’t rebrand TMD. We revamped them. We rewrote their brand positioning from the ground up, brought in talented graphic designers to establish a fresh visual language, and crafted a comprehensive brand and style guide that finally captured who they’d always been.
What started as a project became a partnership.
Today, Simon works with TMD weekly as their Marketing and Brand Director, joining monthly board meetings to help shape their vision and strategy.
The journey has been a privilege……..Watching this family business grow with clarity and purpose, with an appetite for change.
